What do the booking statuses mean?

Who needs to do what, and when the young person gets paid?

Every booking on MyPocketSkill goes through a few simple stages:

  1. Booking made
  2. Young person accepts
  3. Task takes place
  4. Payment released to the young person's eWallet

    What does each status mean?

    • Awaiting approval / confirmation: The customer has made the booking. The young person now needs to accept it. If they're under 18, their parent or guardian may also need to give consent. Who acts next: the young person (and their parent, if needed).
    • Booked: Everyone has accepted and the booking is confirmed. Who acts next: both of you, at the agreed time.
    • Complete: Smaller tasks are marked as complete straight away, others need to be signed-off after the event to avoid paying too early. For example for larger photography bookings payment is typically held until we have seen the photos sent to the customer.  Who acts next: the customer can leave a review.
    • Payment released: The payment has been sent to the young person's eWallet.
    • Cancelled / Declined: The booking won't go ahead. Any refund follows our cancellation policy.

My booking says "awaiting confirmation" and I haven't been paid. What should I do?

If you're the young person, make sure you've accepted the booking. A friendly message to through MyPocketSkill chat usually solves this.

When does the money reach my eWallet?

Once a booking is done, payment moves to your eWallet automatically. It can take a few days to show. During this phase it shows as “pending” and is usually payable within a couple of working days. From your eWallet you can keep your earnings on MyPocketSkill or pay them out to your connected bank account. Read more about your eWallet here.
