How do I cancel a booking?

MyPocketSkill supports young people in early experiences of work, and hence we endeavour to operate with flexibility and understanding, where possible, but we do also have clear policies for Suppliers and Clients in the event of last minute change-of-plans, lateness or no-shows. When this happens, we notify both parties about this.
For subscription-based bookings
- Guidance for Clients. Client cancellations can be undertaken on the platform through a booking cancellation/ rebooking screen or through a chat/messaging request, to our Community Team. Depending on task type and notice period, a charge is payable. If the cancellation relates to the Client engaging the Supplier outside of the MyPocketSkill platform, see your Booking Agreement relating to legally-enforceable release fees. Otherwise, relevant cancellation fees are:
- Tutoring, Music Coaching and Babysitting/Petsitting tasks, can be cancelled up to 12 hours before a booking start time, at no additional charge. Also, if Clients need to change to an alternative date and this is agreed by both parties then there is normally no need to cancel and rebook - a message in the chat to confirm this is sufficient.
- Tutoring, Music Coaching and Babysitting/Petsitting tasks cancelled within 12 hours of the start time can be charged at the full agreed price.
- Smaller (sub £100) photography tasks and all other digital tasks (including IT&Digital, Admin and Social Media non-subscriptions), cancelled within 36 hours of the start time, can be charged at the full agreed price.
- For larger (£100+) photography and event taks, cancellation within 1 month of the start date/time a 50% cancellation charge is made, and within 3-months a 30% cancellation charge is made.
- In the event of a late start (where the Client is late), Suppliers should: (i) remain on the call or at the relevant location for at least 15 minutes (ii) attempt to contact the client via the MyPocketSkill platform and be able to evidence this or otherwise evidence any late cancellation or no-show.
For subscription-based bookings
- For some services, such as Social Media, MyPocketSkill will apply charges on the basis of a monthly subscription.
- Customers agree to a recurring subscription payment at the point of booking. This does not affect your statutory rights to cancel within the first 14 days of a subscription for which only a pro-rata payment is applied. Outside of the first 14 days, a full month's notice is required.
- Price changes for subscription-based services are normally applied on an annual basis and customers are notified about any price changes with at least one month's notice of these changes applying.
- Subscription cancellations should be made by the Client through the booking page on the platform wherever possible, otherwise my email, online chat or phone to our Community Team. Any final payment in respect of notice period must be made at the point of cancellation.
All cancellations can be initiated through the bookings screen.
