Here's our steps to success approach to getting booked on MyPocketSkill. We can't guarantee that it will get you booked but it will increase your chances!

Step 1. Create an awesome profile and listings.  By creating a comprehensive profile, providing references and citing earlier experience of doing a task or a relevant skill, we believe you are improving your chances of being booked for a task. Make sure that your profile and listing includes your experience, if you already have some, and any useful things about yourself. If you are offering pet sitting, do you already have a pet? If you are offering music tutition, what are your grades? If you're offering babysitting, do you have a DBS or childcare qualification? Put yourself in the the customer's shoes “why would I hire this person?”

Step 2. Get Onboarded.  When you sign-up to MyPocketSkill you will receive an invite to a quick onboarding session.  It's just 15 minutes of your time but well worth it because we explain how the platform works and answer any questions you might have.

Step 3. Training.   Consider getting some extra training that might give you an edge. For example, for social media, we have some links to free training resources here. Take some training and then put it in your profile and listings.

Step 4. Messaging.  Check back regularly to look for new listings where you could offer your skills.  Often a task will go to one of the first people to respond, so getting in there early definitely helps.  Also, think about how you reply.  Be polite, be formal, and don't be afraid to say why you are the best person to do this!  But also avoid spamming lots of people - it's much better to put together a few well thought out replies.

Step 5.  Following-up Keeping-up the conversation is also super important. Once you have started a conversation about a booking, remember to respond as soon as you receive a reply and once the conversation is progressing, remind them to book you.
